Our Core Values

We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the underlying principles that drive the way we operate as a team and organisation. In doing this, we used a combination of thinking from Patrick Lencioni and Jim Collins as inspiration for the questions asked to help us discover the core values that already exist in our team.

After spending an entire day diving into this, it was pretty amazing to see just how aligned each of us were. To me, this showed that the team we have worked hard to build here aren’t just talented at what they do as individuals, they also share the same beliefs about what behaviours simultaneously drive successful outcomes for customers, create fulfilling work lives for us all as individuals and differentiate us as an organisation from the thousands of other agencies out there.

Clarity

We always seek to define and understand the fundamental purpose, the “why” of what we’re doing. If we don’t know that, then everything else falls apart. When it comes to any work, we always start with a clear, realistic and measurable objective. That means making sure we have the right tools, people, time and resources to achieve each goal. We believe everyone should be empowered to call out if something is slipping, or if an underlying assumption that underpins our direction has changed.

Integrity

This is a value that shows up often, we’re certainly not the first to use it. But what does it really mean? To us it means doing what we say we’ll do. Communicating proactively, clearly, professionally and with presence to the people around us is critical.

We hold ourselves accountable for the things we commit to doing or delivering. In a world full of crazy deadlines and “never enough time”, we take the time to pay attention to the detail because we believe in quality over quantity. Especially with work for our clients, we always maintain a sense of urgency because that shows how we prioritise and care about the outcomes we create for each of them.

Empathy

We act with empathy for our clients, their customers, our partners and our colleagues. Our default approach is not to make assumptions about where someone is coming from, but instead to take the time to understand what’s driving their thoughts or behaviour, where they are coming from, and how we can support them. We also consider the impact we have on the world, the environment and other creatures we share this planet with.

Curiosity

We are driven by an insatiable curiosity to learn new things. This isn’t something that we have to be told to do, we’re internally motivated to do it because learning brings us joy and fuels our creativity!

The individual and collective experience and wisdom of our team, and that of our customers and their customers, is deeply valued. We’re passionate about sharing that knowledge with each other. As mentors, as coaches, as facilitators, every one of us is also an aspiring teacher.

Our leadership philosophy is to create an environment where teamwork is rewarded, loyalty is fostered and a goal of egalitarianism underpins our decision making.
